The authorities are investigating the case for influence peddling, fraud, embezzlement, bribery and accepting bribes.
According to the index, among other things, investigators also appeared at the headquarters of the Budapest Capital Management Center Zrt. on Attila út.
A house search was also held at the City Hall with the chief clerk and Ambrus Kiss, general deputy mayor.
"This morning, two units of the National Investigation Bureau appeared at the City Hall to search the office of the capital's chief registrar and General Deputy Mayor Kiss Ambrus. There was a house search at the Capital Asset Management Company, the police went to the apartment of my deputy and the CEO of the asset management company," complained Gergely Karácsony on his social media page.
The mayor of Budapest evaluated the police's activities as follows: from today, no one is safe in this country."
