On Monday, János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for national policy, held a meeting with Hungarian party leaders abroad in Szekszárd.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister's representative Katalin Szili, ministerial commissioner Péter Szilágyi and ministerial commissioner István Grezsa.

István Pásztor , president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association (VMSZ), László Brenzovics , president of the Subcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association (KMKSZ), József Berényi , president of the Association's MKP platform and Róbert Jankovics , of the Democratic Community of Hungarians in Croatia, were present on behalf of (HMDK) president.

The participants reviewed the most important national political results of the past year and discussed the situation in each region.

The programs of 2021, the year of the national restart, were deemed successful and they agreed that the focus of national policy should continue to be on identity strengthening, support for families and the economic strengthening of Hungarian communities abroad.

The representatives of the Hungarian parties abroad emphasized that they continue to firmly stand by the Hungarian government. They stressed: Hungarians across the border are asked to register and participate in the 2022 Hungarian parliamentary elections in large numbers, the stakes of which are whether Hungarian national unity can be further strengthened and whether the nation-building work that has been going on for more than a decade can continue.
