The most important question of next year's election is whether Hungary will remain faithful to its more than a thousand-year-old past or give up its sovereignty, Justice Minister Judit Varga told the Italian newspaper La Veritá. The politician quoted from the interview in a post shared on his Facebook page on Monday.

He explained: in response to the Italian newspaper's question, he emphasized that a lot depends on next year's elections: we will defend the utility reduction or let the population be trapped by high energy prices.

"Either we stand up for family benefits and the Child Protection Act, or we give in to violent LGBTQ propaganda," he was quoted as saying.

He said: he was happy to present the government's position on EU affairs and migration in response to the Italian daily's questions.

According to his report, he emphasized on migration that while in 2015 we were criticized for protecting our country and Europe with a fence, today more and more member states are acting similarly.

Judit Varga added: they do not expect an apology or recognition, rather they are pushing for Brussels to take its share of funding for border protection. Regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court, he said: nothing will change in the Hungarian government's immigration policy, since the body supported the government's decisions in everything. "Brussels rules created in peacetime cannot stop illegal immigration," he added.

The minister concluded his post by saying: these questions all have European weight, so it is no coincidence that the international press is also increasingly interested in Hungarian answers. "A lot depends on us, Hungarians!" the minister wrote.
