There is still one week available to fill out the declaration required for the February tax refund, of which 650,000 had already been received by Thursday morning. The tax office is still waiting for declarations from about 100,000 parents until December 31, András Tállai informed MTI.

The Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance emphasized that December 31 is an important milestone for the parent raising the child - if he or she does not receive the family allowance. Until now, the declaration required for a tax refund, the so-called VISSZADO, must be filled in, added András Tállai.

In the vast majority of cases, both parents are entitled to the family allowance, but only one parent actually receives it, so the tax office knows his bank account number or postal address. However, in the case of the other parent, the most important data required for the tax refund is missing. The tax office does not know where the return tax should be transferred, explained the state secretary.

If the mother receives the family allowance, she has nothing to do. He can also check the correctness of the data by viewing the RETURN after a few clicks, but he only needs to fill in the declaration in one case: if he requests the allocation of the tax refund to a place other than where he receives the family allowance. The father and the spouse, on the other hand, will only receive the amount of the tax refund by February 15 if they make a statement by New Year's Eve - emphasized András Tállai.

The family tax refund is unprecedented in the history of Hungarian taxation, which goes to all parents raising children who were entitled to a family discount for at least one day this year, said the state secretary.
The measure is also exemplary in that it affects several types of income tax.
In this way, not only the tax on income from wages is returned, but also, for example, the tax on the entrepreneur's exemption, the tax on income from primary producers and the rental of real estate. The ekhos (simplified public health contribution) is entitled to a 9.5 percent part of the tax, which is classified as sja. And the kats (itemized tax of small tax-paying enterprises) receive a quarter of the tax paid, full-time kats, for example, can count on HUF 150,000 per year - listed the state secretary. The tax office provides so many filling options that everyone can find the most favorable one - András Tállai underlined.

It is easiest to fill out the RETURN online, as the form contains the data available to the tax office, you only need to enter the missing data. But the statement can also be submitted on paper through the post office, or it can also be submitted in person at NAV's customer services, the state secretary reminded.
