How would you write it, dear reader. I vote for the big "Sz" myself, because I think Christmas Eve is a concept and yet there is only one of it every year.

Far be it from me to start linguistic explanations, it has only become apparent in recent years that Christmas Eve is written in lowercase letters. There are certainly many explanations for this, but at the same time, many of us can agree that the great concept is becoming more and more bleak.

Think about it, the period of waiting for the holiday is not so quiet nowadays, it is not about tuning in, but about rushing, no matter what the stimulus, because for many it is the holiday. In a decade, Christmas Eve will not even exist for their children, at most they will know that it is a holiday of love.

If we want to be honest, many people already consider Christmas only as a holiday of love. True, love is a commandment from God, so they are not mistaken in this. But on December 24th we celebrate the birth of God's son, so Christmas Eve will always be Holy Eve for us.

Endre Ady:

Christmas - Bells are still...

The bell is ringing,
the song is singing,
the song of thanksgiving is humming far away
In my lovely little village
at Christmas time
, every soul goes to itself.

All people
with love
to pray,
In my dear little village,
the Messiah
used to bring happiness.
