The left-wing leadership of the capital does not accept any political responsibility regarding the City Hall Gate - it is clear from the interview of István Tarlós with the Mediaworks News Center.
The former mayor also called it absurd that the Gergely Karácsony significantly limited the aspects from which the committee created for this purpose can investigate suspected corruption transactions, the majority of which, moreover, are allies of the left-wing capital leadership. In addition to the fact that the planned sale of the City Hall and the organized and corrupt sale of the capital's real estate turned into one of the biggest political scandals of recent decades, the case also pointed to the incompetence of mayor Gergely Karácsony as a city manager.
While Anonymus' recordings revealed that various actors offered the properties to investors willing to pay a ten percent bribe through customized tenders with the knowledge of the capital's leadership, Karácsony constantly discredited himself when his unrealistic explanations were already refuted by another audio recording released the next day.
The most embarrassing thing about City Hall Gate is the extremely contradictory behavior and communication of the mayor. What the Christmas team is doing is actually a tortured attempt to re-thematize the whole story after a series of lies and self-contradictions, and they try to place the events in a completely different context from the original.
The former mayor called it a fraudulent move that the left-wing majority of the Metropolitan Assembly "after some hesitation" set up an investigation committee in which the people of the affected side, which should be held accountable, were in the majority.
"After all, who would have thought that Gergely Karácsony and his allies would raise any suspicions against their own team?
They also mislead the public by mentioning a committee led by Fidesz, because it was put at the head of the body in vain in the XVI. district leader Péter Kovács. After all, the content of the investigation report will be decided by a majority vote, so it doesn't matter who the president is - explained István Tarlós.
The police are investigating suspicious real estate transactions around the City Hall on the basis of 14 reports, including fraud, bribery and mismanagement. Recently, they searched the house of the deputy mayor Ambrus Kiss and the chief clerk.
