The OSCE evaluated the situation of the domestic public media without asking the leaders of the public media about it. The general director of DMSZ and MTVA expressed his disappointment with the interim report of the long-standing international organization. The document contains opinions, mistakes, and inaccuracies instead of facts, the Press and Marketing Office of the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA) told MTI on Wednesday.

It was written in the announcement: representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) were received on Wednesday by Menyhért Dobos , Duna Médiaszolgáltató Nonprofit Zrt. (DMSZ), and Dániel Papp , CEO of the Media Service Support and Wealth Management Fund (MTVA).

The international organization initiated a consultation with the leaders in connection with the elections, which took place days after the OSCE published its interim report.

The leaders of the public media expressed their disappointment that the part of the report concerning the public media, instead of facts, gave space to opinions that have no basis in reality and try to drag the public media into the political arena, they said.

They drew attention to the fact that the report also contains errors and inaccuracies, including slips that MTVA is the operator of the public service media provider. In the document full of inaccuracies and half-truths, a false certificate was issued about the Hungarian public media even before they had been given the opportunity to present the position of the public media according to internationally accepted democratic standards.

The Center for Fundamental Rights also issued a statement about the OSCE report, describing it as a brake skin.
