The number of vaccinated people is 6,266,064, of which 5,981,569 people already received the second, and 3,176,553 people already received the third booster vaccination. 3,361 new infected people were confirmed, bringing the total number of identified infected people to 1,256,415 since the beginning of the epidemic.

Most of the 82 who died were elderly and chronically ill, so the number of those who died rose to 39,186. The number of recovered people is constantly increasing, currently 1,111,676 people, and the number of active infected people has decreased to 105,553 people. 3,492 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 334 of them are on ventilators. The omicron virus variant is also spreading in Hungary, so we continue to ask unvaccinated people to get vaccinated and those vaccinated more than four months ago to get a booster shot. Vaccination is also possible during the holidays by making an appointment. Online appointment booking for the third confirmatory vaccination of 12-17-year-olds is now open.

The opportunity to receive the vaccination as soon as possible is still guaranteed. At priority hospital vaccination points, it is also possible during the holidays to receive either a first or a booster vaccination by making an appointment in advance.

In view of the success of the vaccination campaigns so far and the appearance of the omikron virus variant in Hungary, there will be several vaccination campaigns in January at the hospital vaccination points and in the specialist clinics of the district headquarters, when it will be possible to request the vaccination again without prior appointment and with on-site registration. In addition, the National Vaccination Working Group invites general practitioners to hold special vaccination campaign days in addition to the vaccinations performed at the time of appointment.

According to the plan, there will be a vaccination campaign every Thursday and Friday afternoon and Saturday in January at vaccination points in hospitals and in specialist clinics in district centers.

If the family doctor agrees, then of course he can hold vaccination campaigns not only once, but up to four times. For general practitioners, the national chief medical officer officially orders vaccination campaign days, so they are entitled to special reimbursement for Saturday vaccination campaign days

The confirmatory vaccination of 12-17-year-olds was carried out at the request of the parent by family doctors and hospital vaccination points as part of the vaccination campaign, and from today it is possible to book an appointment online. In the adolescent age group, 6,000 people have already received the booster vaccination, which is possible with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines

Registration and appointment bookings are also open for vaccinating children aged 5-11, so far 46,000 children have been vaccinated by their parents. Parents who have registered their child with complete data in the past few days and have already validated their registration can enter the appointment booking system. The parent can also notify the family pediatrician that they want to vaccinate their child. All children aged 5-11 can be vaccinated if the parent requests it and there are no contraindications to the vaccination. Vaccination is contraindicated in case of acute, febrile illness. The second vaccination is also due for children 3 weeks after the first vaccination. In addition to hospital vaccination points, pediatricians who require the vaccine also vaccinate. details : https://koronavirus.gov.hu/cikkek/fölyatosan-nyitva-regisztracio-es-az-idopontfoglalo-az-5-11-eves-gyermekek-oltasa

In addition to healthcare facilities and public transport, masks must still be worn in shops, shopping centres, post offices, customer services, theatres, cinemas, museums and sporting events. At indoor cultural and other events, gyms, swimming pools, spas, and catering establishments, the use of masks is mandatory for those working there.

In order to increase vaccination coverage, employers can require their employees to be vaccinated. Vaccination is expected in the public sector, in municipalities the mayors can decide on the issue. Companies that require their employees to be vaccinated can also request a vaccine from the county vaccination workgroups, in which case the company doctors can also carry out the vaccination.
