Hungary is a family-friendly country - declared the parliamentary state secretary responsible for families in a video uploaded to the government's Facebook page on Tuesday.

Róbert Zsigó said: they have been working to strengthen families for more than a decade. As part of this work, the amount of family allowances is continuously increased.

Since 2010, the government has increased the amount that can be spent on family allowances in the budget by 3.5 times, to HUF 3,500 billion. The goal is to make it easier and easier to start a family, have a child, and raise a child in Hungary, emphasized the state secretary.

As of January 1, the minimum wage was raised to HUF 200,000, he added, as a result of which the amount of several family allowances also increased. From January, the maximum amount of gyed (child care fee) increased to HUF 280,000 gross, which is 2.5 times the 2010 amount.

He also touched on the fact that it was introduced and that the graduate level is constantly being raised. This means HUF 140,000 gross for students participating in the bachelor's program, and HUF 182,000 gross for those participating in the master's program. From the first of January, the government raised the amount of the home care fee for children to the amount of the minimum wage, to HUF 200,000 gross, Róbert Zsigó said.

"These measures also show that, unlike the left-wing governments before 2010, we do not take away from families during the crisis, but support them with all our means. We continue to work for families," said the parliamentary state secretary responsible for families.
