koronavirus.gov.hu drew attention .

They recalled: In Hungary, the vaccination of children started on December 15 last year, and there are vaccination points specially designed for them in 77 hospitals.

The child can be taken to the hospital vaccination center after prior online registration and appointment. The registration and appointment website is constantly open for parents. Parents who have registered their child with complete data and whose registration has already been validated can enter the appointment booking system, they wrote.

Children can be registered for vaccination at  https://vakcinainfo.gov.hu/ Attention was drawn to the fact that parents can register their children with the child's data and an e-mail address that has not yet been used for registration, one e-mail address at a time. Parents were asked to provide the child's details and contact information accurately. Highlighted: only a child over the age of five can be validly registered.

They also informed me that validating the registration and verifying the authenticity of the data may take 1-3 days. Only validly registered parents can book an appointment in the online appointment booking system.

Parents can enter the appointment book with the TAJ number and date of birth of the already registered child, and then they can choose the most suitable time and hospital vaccination point. In the case of 5-11-year-olds, of course, the vaccine is not an option, the appointment booker only offers the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine that can be used for childhood vaccinations, they noted.

On the government's website, attention was drawn to the fact that parents can also indicate to the family pediatrician that they would like to vaccinate their child.

It was highlighted: according to the professional recommendation issued to family pediatricians, the vaccine should first be given to children with chronic diseases - for example, organ transplant patients, cancer patients, chronic kidney failure patients, diabetics, malnourished patients, autoimmune patients or those who belong to a special risk group due to other chronic diseases -, by the parent must be provided to children who wish to be vaccinated. If such a child is not in the practice, or if the parent does not wish to vaccinate the chronically ill child, the vaccine can also be administered to a healthy child without waiting.

All children aged 5-11 can be vaccinated if the parent requests it and there are no contraindications to the vaccination. Vaccination is contraindicated in case of acute, febrile illness. The second vaccination is also due for children 3 weeks after the first vaccination, they said.

Vaccination is significantly accelerated if the parent brings the printed, completed and signed parental consent statement, which can be downloaded from the koronavirus.gov.hu page, they noted.

It was also announced on the government website that 138,000 doses of vaccine - enough to vaccinate 69,000 children - were received in December 2021, and 150,000 doses are expected to arrive in January.

Pfizer announced on Tuesday that a shipment containing 48,000 doses of vaccine arrived in Hungary to vaccinate 5-11-year-olds.

They added: two doses are required for the development of complete protection, and 21 days must elapse between the first and second administration in this age group as well.
