One of the cornerstones of democracy is the existence of party pluralism within the framework of the rule of law.

The competition of parties for the favor of the voters is a healthy process, if their distinctiveness, goals, ideology, and commitment are clearly recognizable. During the parliamentary elections, they can make the results of their work visible, because the voters objectively confirm their actual situation with the tool of social judgment. Pre-election opinion polls appear as signposts at best.

The essence of democracy is to ensure the enforcement of the will of the majority of the people. In general, the party with the most electoral votes can form a government if it has reached the percentage of votes established by law. If this does not happen, like the party that received the most votes, it can look for its coalition partners, keeping in mind the ability to keep its election promises. The government's permanent position can be preserved if, in this case, all party negotiations take place in front of the public, and the voters behind the parties have a supportive attitude towards them.

We could say that this is the essence of democracy, since the will of the majority prevails, based on the reciprocity of compromises, but according to the will of the voters. The outlined classical parliamentary election form also reflects the principle of popular sovereignty.

In 2022, it is in the interest of the members of Hungarian civil society who go to the polls to weigh objectively. The siren calls and promises of the various parties may fly away, but the quantifiable facts may show the right way.

The purpose of my article is not to repeat the economic misdeeds of Gyurcsányism, to analyze the activities of the governments ruling from 2002 to 2010 in a criminal conspiracy, robbing the people and the country. Rather, let's deal with what tangible results the Fidesz-KDNP government, supported by a two-thirds majority for three terms, achieved by thinking and acting together with us, the citizens. We can be proud of this and not let the cheese sing out of our mouths. Here, too, I would refrain from listing the almost infinite number of positive facts, and from analyzing the errors that need to be corrected separately.

We are a peaceful, calm nation blessed with hard working hands. Our faith is unbroken, but we also do our job every day. The trodden path left behind us is long, full of lessons that we can put in the bags of our families and children like cookies baked in the ashes. According to the proverb: "Don't leave the beaten path for the untraveled!" This is true if we look back over the period from 2010 to 2022. However, we have also traveled the pitiful path of the previous eight years of the pathetic social liberal government, which destroyed the nation and the country, and was full of pitfalls. We experienced how the country's management at that time led us by the nose.

However, it is worth analyzing the pre-election charade of counter-selected political figures. The joint primary election circus of the left-wing parties and Jobbik, which has become neo-Marxist, was a fusillade "salto mortale", moreover, they forgot to stretch the safety net under the artists. The safety net is provided by voters who want to preserve their identity.

The leaders of the left-wing parties, keeping their livelihood interests at the fore, did not ask their supporters whether they agreed with moving to the collective farm or whether they were happy to be yoked to the DK. It became clear to more and more of them the double betrayal of the left, i.e. the betrayal of their identity entrusted to their parties and the fact of falling at the feet of Ferenc Gyurcsány. We can notice that the small parties lose their independence after the elections - they either serve the ideas of the stage master, or, as they say, go to hell.

The leaders of the opposition parties disregarded the will of their voters, they concluded a "mutt coalition" pact in advance, with an uncontrollable, legitimacy-deprived primary election circus. This is similar to "Here's the red, where's the red?" for the cheat price of the game.

Public opinion polls show that the left-wing coalition, to which their prime ministerial candidates have changed, has helped a lot. It cannot be disputed that party plurality should be preserved. However, those who, instead of being constructive, dream of reshaping our basic law in their own image, violating the principles of the rule of law, cannot be called an opposition following normality.

The future of our families, children and grandchildren requires a country led by the will of the majority, peace and tranquility.
