The Basic Law carries lasting values, said Róbert Répássy, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, during the ceremonial release of stamps issued on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Basic Law coming into force in Budapest.
Róbert Répássy mentioned the Holy Crown and the Parliament building as parallels to the Basic Law. He said that the basic law is part of the legally continuous historical constitution, it pays homage to the Holy Crown and the Hungarian statehood expressed by it.
Sára Hegmanné Nemes, president of Magyar Posta Zrt., said that the inner dome hall of the Parliament and the Holy Crown can be seen on the block.
There are 50,000 copies of the perforated basic version, 6,500 of the cut version, and 2,500 of the third, so-called black print. The first two can be purchased separately for HUF 2010-2010, the third only as part of the complete, exclusive set, for HUF 8,890.
At the event, the stamp set called the Basic Law of Hungary, which came into force 10 years ago, was ceremoniously put into circulation with stamping and signing.
