ISZOMM and the Labor Party are running in the election as a party alliance. The parties of Tibor Szanyi and Gyula Thürmer are trying to enter the parliament under the name Left Alliance, and they may even continue as allies in the long term, mandiner.hu reported.
They write: we have been informed by a reliable source that the Yes Solidarity for Hungary Movement (ISZOMM) and the Hungarian Workers' Party are running together as a party alliance in the 2022 parliamentary elections under the name Baloldali Szövetség. The cooperation between the parties of Tibor Szanyi and Gyula Thürmer is not new, since in 2021 they jointly collected signatures for the introduction of the HUF 250,000 net minimum wage included in their program.
According to our source, there are many similarities between the programs of the two parties, so cooperation will not be difficult, which may even lead to Yes Solidarity and the Labor Party continuing to politicize as a party alliance in the long term.
We understand that both parties are open to the addition of additional left-wing allies.
They are confident that they will have the 71 individual candidates needed to make the list
However, the Left Alliance will not have an easy time in the election in this way, since as a party alliance they would have to get 10 percent of the votes to cross the parliamentary threshold. In addition, since the electoral law has been amended, in order to establish a list, they must run individual representative candidates in at least 71 districts and 14 counties.
In any case, the parties are optimistic, they see that the 71 candidates will definitely be there, but they hope that they will be able to run in all 106 constituencies.
The Szanyis even recruited candidates for representatives on Facebook. At first it seemed that there would be the right number of candidates, but recently it turned out that in several constituencies, mainly in rural areas, their candidates withdrew because they were under very strong political pressure from the left coalition.
But it may even be on the left - they will go beyond today's pub!
