Printing companies connected to Katalin Cseh and operating at the same branches as Pannónia Nyomda Kft. may have created a criminal organization aimed at siphoning EU funds. NAV's Directorate General of Crime is investigating the case on suspicion of budget fraud, and the European Anti-Fraud Office is also investigating the applications. Meanwhile, the politician of the moment is fighting for the protection of EU resources.
"The rule of law mechanism is about protecting the financial interests of the European Union, protecting EU resources," wrote Katalin Cseh, Member of the European Parliament of Momentum, in her Facebook post on Sunday. in connection with which, the Directorate General of Crime of the NAV investigates and conducts house searches on the suspicion of budget fraud committed by a criminal organization in connection with the company of the current politician and the printing companies operating in coordination with him, and the Economic Competition Office and the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) are also investigating.
Cseh previously claimed that the family business of the Cseh family, Pannónia Nyomda Kft., and he personally - who was the owner and manager of the family business until January 2018, when the EU funds were awarded - had nothing to do with these companies, and slander has threatened lawsuits against papers that claim this. So far, however, his threat has proved to be a bluff.
The latest development in the story was made public by the Mediaworks News Center. According to this, the actors of the network of companies connected to the Czech Katalinés participated in ten EU tenders in whole or in part with the same technological development. According to their information, the network of half a dozen companies illegally obtained billions in EU grants through circular billing and fictitious receipts.
The investigators established that the companies in question - including Pannónia Nyomda Kft., which was previously managed by Katalin Cseh herself - applied in a coordinated manner for EU and domestic funds. In several cases, the company's headquarters, branch office, and manager were the same, but more than once the identity of the supplier and the place where the project was implemented also coincided. So-called holographic devices and technologies were included in the tenders.
Three printing companies from the "friends' business circle" of the member of the European Parliament, Nova-Inn Kft., Mondat Kft. and Holotech Hungary Kft., also won the EU tenders, worth about HUF 4.4 billion. Between 2004 and 2019, Royal Press Hungary Kft. received the greater part of this, a total of HUF two billion, and Royal Press's legal successor, Holotech Hungary Kft., received HUF 1.748 billion in EU funds on October 31, 2019. The aforementioned companies are connected to Katalin Cseh by another family business in Göd, the Lakatos family.
