I signed the law on itemized tax for low-tax entrepreneurs, adopted by the Parliament, today, Katalin Novák announced on her social media page on Monday.

The head of state wrote the following:

I thoroughly examined and considered the adopted law, as well as the comments I received. I did not find any reason why I should turn to the Constitutional Court. The legislator's intention and the purpose of the change can hardly be disputed.

At the same time, I sense the indignation. That for many it will be difficult to quickly adapt to the new situation. I understand you have questions. It would have been more correct if a decision on the amendments was made after substantive consultation. Even in the case of rapid changes, the Government can be expected to adequately help those affected.

I had a discussion with the Prime Minister and the members of the Government, and I was promised that, during the development of the detailed rules, reassuring answers will be given to the questions that legitimately arise.

We live in extraordinary times. The economic crisis following the war turns our everyday lives upside down. Forces beyond our control make the future unpredictable. The security of Hungary is also based on the stability of the public finances and the budget. In a crisis, you need a steady hand, a cool head and a compassionate heart. In this situation, it is correct if the head of state does not obstruct the implementation of the decision of the Parliament.

Teamwork, mutual responsibility and insight - this helps us overcome our difficulties. That's the only way we can stay on our feet.
