The Mária Kopp Institute for Population and Families (KINCS) announced a tender under the title "Our common treasures - family, community, mental health". The KINCS welcomes literary or scientific entries for the competition, and with this competition it also wants to remember Mária Kopp, who would have turned 80 this year, the institute announced in its announcement.

Mária Kopp and Árpád Skrabski are looking for works related to their book The Paths and Pitfalls of the Search for Happiness, as well as the themes of the Hungarostudy 2021 research examining the mental state of Hungarians, for the latest tender of the Mária Kopp Institute, the total prize of which is HUF 3 million.

In the case of works of fiction, KINCS is looking for writings that capture the connection of happiness, mental health, and social support to the world of families and communities, regardless of genre. In the case of a scientific career, studies presenting theoretical or empirical results are expected.

The applications are judged by a professional jury, chaired by Prof. Dr. Aczél Petra, director of the Institute of Communication and Sociology of the Corvinus University of Budapest. The fiction writings are evaluated by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Erzsébet Schäffer and journalist Tamás Krúdy. The scientific projects will be judged by Prof. Dr. György Purebl, director of SE's Institute of Behavioral Sciences, and Dr. Ágnes Engler, scientific vice president of KINCS.

KINCS will publish a book of the best writings in the second half of the year. Submission deadline: April 3, 2022, announcement of results: July 11, 2022.
