More and more, one comes across such opinions on the rock-hard Ballib side, which one can't help but wonder: who are they really with now? First of all, MZP receives the letter properly - rightfully so - I would apologize if I were a left-wing sympathizer and were offered him as prime minister. And now they have managed to create a consensus around their candidate for the president of the republic. However, several opinion leaders consider Péter Róna unfit.

András Simor, the former president of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB), harshly criticized Péter Róna on his Facebook page after the left-wing association announced that the 79-year-old lawyer-economist was nominated as president of the republic by the parties of the Unity for Hungary party, VG.hu noticed.

Péter Róna is the presidential candidate of the left-wing alliance, the press department of Unity for Hungary announced on Monday. Quoting from the announcement: the 79-year-old lawyer-economist is nominated as János Áder's successor, Péter Róna, a teacher at Oxford University's Blackfriars Hall, accepted the invitation of the left-wing alliance preparing for a change of government. In addition to Róna, the names of Gábor Iványi and István Elek were also mentioned in the "competition" for the head of state.

Economist András Simor, who before György Matolcsy (and after Zsigmond Járai) was the president of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) between March 3, 2007 and March 3, 2013, told the news of Péter Róna's nomination that the professional was rather averse to the story. on his Facebook page.

Auditing companies are often accused of signing almost any balance sheet and turning a blind eye to their clients' small and large swindles - began András Simor's post entitled Róna as a presidential candidate. "In the 2000s, I was lucky enough to lead a large international consulting company that also deals with auditing. In the seven years I was there, in one case we said that we would not sign a client's balance sheet and would rather resign from our mandate. The reason was that they recognized amounts as income that were not real, so their financial report did not reflect reality," continued the former central bank governor.

He even named the company: it was NABI, whose board of directors was chaired by Péter Róna.

"By the way, if you ask businessmen in Budapest who had a relationship with Róna, you don't hear a lot of good things about her. In my opinion, he is a completely immoral figure," added Simor. He also noted that he hasn't been upset or surprised by anything for a while now, but after the 100th birthday of Árpád Göncz, this news shocked him. "I can't even imagine what this news means for the opposition coalition as a whole," concluded Simor.

Reacting in a comment, former finance minister László Békesi also agreed, stating that:

Róna is a controversial, unabashedly disruptive figure.

As is well known, Békesi was the Minister of Finance of Hungary (then still the Hungarian People's Republic) between May 10, 1989 and May 23, 1990, and then held this position again after the regime change, between July 15, 1994 and February 28, 1995.

In response to András Simor's words, economist László Jankovics, among others, shared his thoughts on the nomination of Péter Róna.

For about 10-12 years, he has been writing publications (usually full of misunderstandings, in my opinion) against Hungary's accession to the Eurozone, which was recently announced to be the cornerstone of the economic policy program of the united opposition, Jankovics pointed out. It is no exaggeration to say that the nomination of Péter Róna has already caused intense emotions in professional circles.

The republican presidential candidate of the Fidesz-KDNP party alliance is Katalin Novák, who after her nomination, on the one hand, resigned from her position as minister without the portfolio responsible for families, and on the other hand suspended her party membership.

2022Plusz: we also congratulate Péter Róna! His personality is suitable for representing the assumed political manège, even if they don't take him seriously! Gyurcsány occasionally raises his head from the glass and looks around with an inquisitive look: who else could be burned?
