The American trading company Amazon has suspended online fundraising for the Black Lives Matter movement after the organization was unable to settle its end-of-year balance of sixty million dollars (HUF 18 billion).

In a rarely used maneuver, the BLM recently changed its accounting cycle from calendar to fiscal, allowing it to later announce where millions came from in the second half of 2020. The movement could not even say who the current leader of the organization is, and thus who is responsible for the collected funds.

One of the founders of the movement, Patrisse Cullors, previously stated that she did not know who the current leader of the organization was, but that the mentioned amount came from "white guilt" and was given to the movement by companies. Cullors left the BLM in May of last year after he was accused of using $3.2 million (960 million forints) to buy properties for himself from the donations. It is not known exactly how much the companies sent to the BLM, but Amazon contributed about ten million dollars, while the processor manufacturer Intel contributed a total of one million dollars to the work of organizations "fighting for social justice".
