Organized by the Pro Civis Civic Association, a meeting took place on Csallóköz Thursday with the operators of driving schools in the region. On behalf of the association, the president Péter Őry informed that the Hungarian translation of the Act No. 8/2009 on road traffic and its printed version had been completed. Minority Government Commissioner László Bukovszky said that they would like to include the law and related regulations in the country's official law library, i.e. Slov-Lex.
At the meeting, they also discussed the possibility of mother-tongue education and exams, and found that there are serious problems in the area, which they would like to solve together. The primary concern is that the current practice tests in Hungarian are not available in printed form. The second problematic area is that there is no textbook in Hungarian, meaning that those who wish to obtain their driver's license in their native language can only prepare for the exam with difficulty.
During the examination, the Hungarian tests are available at the police stations, but in the present area there may be a question as to whether there will be any possibility of using the Hungarian language at all in the case of the new system planned from 2023, i.e. the exams with a mandatory electronic system.
The operators and instructors of the driving schools also informed us that there is a great demand for the use of the Hungarian language , as it is much easier for those interested to learn technical material and take exams in the mother tongue. László Bukovszky indicated that he would initiate the national police chief to make the practice tests available.
Péter Őry offered the help of Pro Civis PT, that if they are available, your tests will be issued in a printed version. The participants agreed that they would meet again in the future, as a Hungarian textbook is urgently needed, and the use of minority languages must also be ensured in the case of electronic tests.
