Péter Márki-Zay may be in trouble - most recently, for example, because one of his advisors, former central bank vice president Júlia Király, is so obsessed with the nomination of Péter Róna as head of state that he does not undertake public appearances.
It is known: the six party presidents and Péter Márki-Zay made the Oxford-based economist a candidate for president of the public association a week ago, the decision was announced by Péter Jakab on Monday. Róna will be the joint candidate of the opposition in the state presidential election on March 10, instead of pastor Gábor Iványi, who was previously thought to have a better chance, and it seems that this has left deep wounds in the relationship between the opposition parties.
According to Saturday's ATV.hu article, Júlia Király is also not happy about Péter Róna's candidacy. The portal writes that the former vice president of the MNB wrote the letter on Monday afternoon, and the addressee is Péter Márki-Zay and the economic policy decision-makers of the six-party opposition. Király announced that he would no longer represent the united opposition in public, because he would not be able to answer a possible question about Róna other than that the opposition head of state candidate is a "mischievous little villain".
In her letter justifying her decision, Júlia Király made extremely serious accusations regarding Péter Róna's university and entrepreneurial career, and then reminded the opposition prime minister candidate that Róna had openly attacked her (that is, Júlia Király) on countless occasions, as one of the "seven main culprits" responsible for the spread of foreign currency lending naming him.
Júlia Király called her decision final, but not public. "I'm just not going to get it from now on," he added. He left so many ways out of the situation that he declared:
If Péter Róna does not accept the candidacy for some reason, "his withdrawal can already be forgotten".
