The State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations declared at Héhalm in Nógrád County: "Unification is the answer to the threats to churches and rural people."

Miklós Soltész spoke on the occasion of the ceremonial blessing of the Kisboldogasszony Plébániatemplom, renewed with government support: at the beginning of the regime change, many people believed that the times marked by the names of Sztálin, Rákosi and Antal Apró would not return. They hoped that rurality would not be a disadvantage and that they would not continue to persecute Christianity, he added. But after 32 years, they must be disappointed, as the rural people are being threatened and mocked again by the political forces that "appropriated" the times before the regime change, promising to withdraw support from the churches and make their institutions impossible, in a manner reminiscent of communist times, sometimes threatening priests and believers with prison and hanging - underlined.

All this shows, "small clans and small clones are here among us", he said.

The response of Christianity and the country must also be clear in this case, as was the response to the renovation of the church in Héhalm: with the cooperation of the locals and the help of the church, the government and the parliament representative of the region, all obstacles were removed, and the external reconstruction of the building could be realized - reminded me.

It is also a result of the cooperation and proves the strength of the community that in 2021, in Nógrád County, the renovation of 46 churches in 42 settlements was started and completed within the framework of the Hungarian church renovation program of more than HUF 700 million, he explained. According to Miklós Soltész, all believers in Héhalmon can count on the civic government to respect and help the settlement in the future, as the community that has given many priests to the Hungarian Catholic Church in recent decades deserves to see its church continue to beautify. The politician called on those present: do not leave unanswered the attacks launched against our main values, children, families and churches.
