"For us, the safety of the Hungarian people is the most important," emphasized the Hungarian Prime Minister.

As Mandiner reported , Viktor Orbán convened the national security operatives after the Russian attack. Early on Thursday afternoon, the Hungarian Prime Minister logged in via video on his social media page, in which he underlined:

We condemn Russia's military action".

He announced that a crisis consultation will be held in Brussels during the day, and as he added, European unity will be sustainable. He emphasized that the Hungarian side should stay out of this conflict. He also repeated:

"there is no question of deploying either soldiers or military equipment in Ukraine",

at the same time, he underlined that Hungary will offer humanitarian aid.

Hungarian soldiers and police units have started work on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, according to the prime minister. Viktor Orbán announced that Hungary is prepared to receive Ukrainians arriving in Hungary and applying for refugee status.
