The Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association (KMKSZ) asked the parties and politicians in Hungary not to treat Transcarpathian Hungarians as a campaign topic, but to take into account the difficult situation of the people living there, the association told MTI.

In a statement, KMKSZ expressed its gratitude to the Hungarian government for all the efforts it is making to restore peace and alleviate the humanitarian situation in the war situation in Ukraine.

"We highly appreciate the measures taken to help the refugees, as well as the offers aimed at helping the residents of Transcarpathia and those arriving here," they said.

The organization emphasized that Transcarpathian Hungarians are law-abiding citizens of Ukraine who are interested in ending the war as soon as possible and establishing peace.

"Therefore, we call on all our compatriots to take this into account and make responsible statements during their expressions," the KMKSZ announced.
