According to Péter Szijjártó, the only way to change the war is through dialogue, which is why he proposed Budapest as the venue for the peace negotiations of the Ukrainian-Russian war - he talked about this in an interview in New York. He then flew to Kosovo, where he sat at the negotiating table with Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.

In a video message shared on the social media page of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, he emphasized that the European integration of the Western Balkans is not only a Hungarian national strategic aspect, but also the interest of the whole of Europe.

gave an interview between the UN negotiations in New York then flew to Kosovo. The head of the ministry put it this way: changing a war into peace is only possible through dialogue. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó answered the interview question about why he proposed Budapest as the venue for the peace negotiations of the Ukrainian-Russian war:

War is happening in our neighborhood and we hate it. We want peace.

Péter Szijjártó said in the interview in New York that we should be optimistic about peace until it is born. He added that the situation is very dire and that he consults with the ambassador in Kyiv every day. They decided on the opening hours of the embassy in order to be able to help all those in need.

The number of refugees arriving in Hungary is increasing, and this number will be even higher

he added.

We are working at full capacity, but unfortunately the Ukrainians are letting people out at a much slower rate than we can allow them to enter.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also spoke about the fact that the Hungarian Armed Forces are in a suitable condition and shape to defend Hungary.

We have been saying for a long time, and perhaps now it will be clear to everyone: the European integration of the Western Balkans is not only a Hungarian national strategic aspect, but also the interest of the whole of Europe.

- Péter Szijjártó talked about all this in Kosovo. He added:

We are well aware of the lesson, so beyond the obligations arising from our size, we help to create peace and stability in the region, since whatever happens here has an immediate impact on our country.

In his previous post, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade drew attention to the fact that he was preparing an important announcement. Then he said:

We are going to Kosovo, a country where mostly Hungarian soldiers ensure that there is no war. An important announcement follows!
