- Due to the war situation in Ukraine and the silent war that developed before the elections in Hungary, the unity of the Hungarian people must be expressed in large numbers. The president of the Civil Solidarity Forum believes that what is needed now is not a change of government, but a change of opposition. László Csizmadia told Magyar Nemzet's
We publish the interview below.
- In the current situation, the war overrides everything, but we must not forget the beginning of the war of independence in 1848 either. The war and our national holiday now point out how important the protection and defense of freedom is. The main message of the event will also be seen by those present on our molino. Peace March - No War - Peace March. In Hungarian: say no to war - said László Csizmadia about the message of the Peace March on March 15. The president of the Civil Solidarity Forum (CÖF) and the Non-profit Civil Solidarity Foundation (CÖKA) believes that the political aspects should not be prioritized, but that the peace negotiations between the two parties take place as soon as possible and the war ends.
– In such cases, a nation whose borders are being fought over and whose sovereignty is threatened should represent unity. We had many messages to the left, to which we received replies that they were organizing a rally to change the government. Everyone who represents normality knows that you cannot change the government with a general assembly. Their power relations were also presented on October 23. We could see how weak the left is and how disorganized it is, he pointed out.
László Csizmadia explained that the organizers of the Peace March want the war not to escalate. He added that if the government were to follow the position of the left and send weapons to Ukraine, then Hungary could become an obvious target, but the weapons could even be turned against the Transcarpathian Hungarians.
– What is needed here is not a change of government, but a change of opposition. The door must be opened for a competitive party that will emerge later, which is able to fight for the country, which is able to compete with its ideas and clearly strengthen the nation in a constructive way, he detailed. László Csizmadia added that due to the war situation in Ukraine and the "silent war" before the elections in Hungary, the Hungarian people's unity must be expressed in large numbers, and in the same way as on October 23, or as at the first Peace March in 2012, they must stand up in addition to the loyalty and thoughts of the majority citizenry.
On October 23, according to police estimates, 340,000 people took part in the Peace March, the organizers expect that this number will be significantly higher now.
" We want to see at least half a million people at the event, " he said.
László Csizmadia drew attention to the fact that the Polish railways are now overloaded, so Polish sympathizers cannot come to Budapest by train, but the organizers hope that there will be people who will come to Hungary by car. There will also be Italians and Spaniards at the event.
According to the information of the president of the CÖF-CÖKA, the Peace March will start from Elvis Presley Square next to the Császár-Komjádi Sports Pool on March 15 with a meeting time of 12:00. The participants will arrive in front of the Parliament via the route Margit híd - Szent István körút - Alkotmány utca, at Kossuth Lajos tér, where Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will give a speech from 3 p.m. Buses coming from the countryside can approach the Császár-Komjádi Sports Swimming Pool from the Árpád bridge and the M0 highway.
