Mészáros Group and OPUS GLOBAL Nyrt support those fleeing the war in Ukraine with accommodation, durable food, logistics equipment and disinfectants through charitable organizations.

According to the joint statement of the two companies sent to MTI on Wednesday, since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, they have been in constant consultation with Hungarian charitable organizations.

Hunguest Hotels Zrt., which belongs to OPUS GLOBAL Nyrt., has opened its Budapest hotels to war refugees for the next month - as part of its HUF 112 million donation. For the time being, the two hotels can accommodate 360 ​​people in the next one month, who will be provided with a free hot meal once a day in addition to accommodation, they wrote, noting that 116 refugees have been accommodated through the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Organization since Friday. It was emphasized that neither Hunguest Hotels Zrt. nor the owner OPUS GLOBAL Nyrt. receive state compensation or compensation from other organizations for the reception of refugees.

The subsidiaries of the Mészáros Group and OPUS GLOBAL Nyrt. provide food and disinfectants to the refugees through the Hungarian Red Cross.

The corporate group's donation of its own products includes mineral water, soft drinks, meat dry goods, honey and disinfectants, which are provided by Gallicoop Zrt., Vivienvíz Kft., and KALL Ingredients Kft. In addition, at the request of the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Organization, OPUS-TIGÁZ Zrt. will provide the organization with a 2-ton forklift to increase their logistics capacity, they explained.

They reminded that the Mészáros Group and the OPUS Group, as Hungary's leading industrial, production and service groups, have paid special attention to helping the needy in the spirit of social responsibility: last year, the grants devoted to charitable purposes exceeded 1.4 billion, and in the last five years, HUF 5.1 billion.

The Mészáros Group also helped those in need in the event of humanitarian disasters: in January of last year, it provided more than 46 tons of food to the victims of the earthquake in Croatia, and with the cooperation of large Hungarian entrepreneurs, it helped the homeless with 120 fully equipped, furnished living containers, the announcement reads.
