"No matter what difficulties come, we will preserve Serbian-Hungarian friendship, we will preserve peace," Viktor Orbán said on Saturday in Novi Sad, Serbia. On Saturday, Viktor Orbán took part in the ceremonial handover of the Belgrade-Újvidék section of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line.
In his speech at the ceremonial handing over of the Belgrade-Újvidék section of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line at the Újvidék railway station, the Prime Minister emphasized: "here in the minds and hearts of all of us is the war that is taking place at the eastern borders of Hungary". This war came at the worst time and "now presents us with a serious challenge, since we have developed so well, we started with such great momentum and we still have so many beautiful plans," said Viktor Orbán.
The world has now become uncertain, Serbs and Hungarians have to rethink many things, he said, adding: "I hope that President Vucic and I will have a role in this rethinking" after the next election.
