As of today, the epidemiological restrictions that are still in force will be lifted. Thanks to the successful defense strategy and the high level of vaccination of the population, the fifth wave of the epidemic is receding, so it is no longer necessary to wear a mask in closed spaces and on public transport, and restrictions on events will also be lifted. Due to the threat of the sixth wave, the health emergency is still maintained by the government.

The obligation to wear masks on public transport, stations, stops and railway stations, shops, shopping centers, post offices, customer services, theaters, cinemas, museums, and catering establishments will also be abolished. Of course, anyone can wear a mask in the future to protect their own health.

Pursuant to the government's decision, all restrictions that have so far tied the use of a service to a protection card will be abolished. Restrictions on events will also be removed: sports, cultural and other music and dance events, as well as outdoor events with more than five hundred people, can now be visited without a security card.

However, the rules regarding the issuance and validity of the protection card do not change, as they were developed in accordance with the regulations related to the European Union's Covid card, and EU countries continue to determine the conditions for entry into the country themselves. However, entry into the territory of Hungary becomes free.

Pursuant to the government decree on the lifting of restrictions, depending on the employer's decision, but no later than April 1, 2022, the unpaid leave of those who have not been vaccinated despite the mandatory employer requirement will be lifted. Vaccination is therefore only required for healthcare and social workers, as well as in national defense, but not in other areas of public administration.

Since the number of patients cared for in the hospital is also decreasing, health services can be used according to normal operation, however, wearing a mask is still mandatory in hospitals from now on. According to the Ministry of Human Resources, the treatment of coronavirus patients takes place in the designated institutions. According to the ministry's information, hospitals will continue to carry out operations and treatments postponed due to the epidemic, and at the same time, they will continue to ensure the operation of hospital vaccination points.
