The parties of the opposition and Prime Minister candidate Péter Márki-Zay launched a Hungarian-language poster campaign in London, the party association announced.

According to the announcement, "Whoever understands these words: The country counts on you!" with the message, Hungarian-language posters of the opposition appeared in two London locations, King's Cross station and Borough High Street, in the last two weeks of the campaign period.

The purpose of the action is to draw the attention of those living or staying abroad to the fact that their participation is expected on April 3, they wrote.

They added, "the votes of the hundreds of thousands of Hungarians currently living abroad may even be decisive in this year's elections. The ruling party is deliberately trying to limit their situation by allowing them to vote only on a difficult route, at locations that often require several hours of travel and queuing".

"It is not surprising that the voting opportunities of those living abroad were shaped in this way, since 4 out of 5 Hungarians living abroad want a change of government," according to the analysis of the 21 Research Center, they noted.

The announcement states: those who wish to vote in foreign missions must submit their application by 4 p.m. on March 25. Although the number of registrations submitted in several foreign cities increased compared to four years ago, in Munich and London, proportionally fewer people registered than in 2018, even though both cities are important bases for Hungarians abroad.

"After April 3rd, we will build a country where you don't have to leave and where it is worth coming home to, and we will ensure the same right to vote for Hungarians who have migrated abroad, so that they will never again be discriminated against by the government of their home country," they said.
