For the first time in its history, the American Conservative Union is organizing the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in Europe, and also in Hungary. The co-director is the Center for Fundamental Rights, and the keynote speaker of the conference starting on Thursday is Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary.

The Hungarian Prime Minister greeted the participants of the conference, highlighting Václav Klaus, the former president of the Czech Republic. The prime minister reminded: they won their fourth election in a row a month ago, and four days ago he was able to establish the fifth conservative-Christian government.

"It's always good to be able to talk among friends. It is especially good if there is a cover behind one's words, and we Hungarians now rightly feel that there is a cover behind our words"

said the Prime Minister.

According to Viktor Orbán, they have come a long way, in the 1980s they learned about what was happening in America from samizdata illegally distributed in the former Eastern bloc. At that time, they envied the culture of democratic debate, freedom, they envied President Reagan for his charisma and dynamism, while Hungary had communist functionaries in gray suits, a suffocating atmosphere and hopelessness. As he told the participants: if they have seen the series Chernobyl, they may have an idea of what he is talking about.

"The ultimate condition for victory is that we must become the best"

Viktor Orbán said that the most he can contribute to the event is to tell how the communists and liberals were repeatedly defeated. "How did Hungary become a bastion of conservative and Christian values? The battle brings out the best in everyone and cleanses them of everything that makes them weak," said the prime minister.

America's biggest problem

The prime minister then addressed the most important problem of American politics.

Progressive liberals occupy the most important positions in the defining areas of life, and this was also the case in Hungary before

- said the prime minister, adding: "the entire machinery of the state apparatus worked to consolidate the power of the communists, and we grew up in this."

As he explained: There was a communist dictatorship in Hungary, the state machinery worked to consolidate its power, even then they lived in a woke era in everyday socialist dictatorship, the state controlled the public and suppressed right-wingers.

“There was a joke in Communism about whether you could joke about Communism, and it was about winning a trip to Siberia of various lengths. We decided that this was enough," said the prime minister. "We wanted to get our freedom back," Orbán said. "We persevered and won, and we thought we got what we expected, but we were wrong," Orbán pointed out.

"And then the liberals sided with the communists"

he said.

Money of socialists and others

Orbán continued: "Trump behaved in 2020 exactly as we did in 2002. We steered well and the swamp of the left dragged us down.

"Between 2002-2010, the socialists spent people's money, the economy fell into recession"

- he said, adding that after that violence was unleashed on the streets, and the law did not protect the victims, but the perpetrators. Quoting from the Bible, the head of government said: a tree is known by its fruit, "and the government of the progressives spoke for itself: economic bankruptcy and street violence".

12 points of Hungary

"We came back in 2010, we put in 8 years, we fought brick by brick," he said.

Hungary is now completely cured, the recipe is open for use and can be taken away, it consists of 12 points

said the prime minister.

The first point, according to Viktor Orbán, is that "we have to play by our own rules". As he said, "one should not accept the path offered by others", because "he who plays by the rules of his opponents will lose".

The second point is national conservatism in domestic politics. According to Orbán's presentation, it is necessary to stay on the side of the voters, citing the southern border wall as an example.

"Progressives want to impose their wishful thinking on society, and people don't like fever dreams on important issues"

Viktor Orbán said.

The third point: national interest in foreign policy. The nation comes first, an interest-based foreign policy is needed, and this is often not easy. During this time, Viktor Orbán was primarily thinking about the Russian-Ukrainian war. He said: Hungary condemns the attacker and helps the attacked, "but Hungary is protected by NATO and the Hungarian Defense Forces, not Ukraine."

The fourth point: let's have a media - Orbán explained, because, as he explained, "the modern Western media is aligned with the left-wing position". He put it this way: "I know the old ethos of Western democracy that party politics and the press should be separated, but the Democrats in America don't follow that." According to the prime minister, the Republican media do not compete with the Democrats.

The fifth point is to conceal the intentions of our opponents. According to Orbán, you have to be a taboo breaker. "We bring to light what the left is up to, before they come to power.

"We brought LGBTQ issues to light, and the Hungarian people rejected the sensitization of children"

he underlined.

The sixth point is the economy. Orbán said: only economic policies should be pursued that benefit those who did not vote for them. People want to get ahead in life, if a right-wing government can't deliver that, it's doomed.

The seventh point is to avoid being left behind, said the prime minister. "People are not asking from either extreme," he asserted.

Eighth point: read every day. According to the Prime Minister, nothing better than books has been invented to convey and understand complicated matters, and he himself reads every day.

The ninth point: have faith. "The lack of faith is dangerous. Whoever does not believe that there will be an end of the world one day, then he feels that he can do anything in his power. I myself learned that if we don't deal with the life of faith, we will lose it," he underlined. Point ten: find friends. Conservatives are able to quarrel with each other even on the smallest issue, spiritual nuances are important to us, but we always have to look for common points. A good example of this is that the Vatican is our most important ally on several issues, but we think differently about illegal migration.

Tenth point: looking for friends. According to Viktor Orbán, conservatives can quarrel with each other even on the smallest matter, because "spiritual nuances are important to us", but common points must always be sought.

A good example of this is that the Vatican is our most important ally on several issues, but we think differently about illegal migration

- He told.

Eleventh point: building communities. According to the Prime Minister, "there is no conservative policy without functioning communities. The lonelier people are, the more people go to the liberals," said the prime minister.

The twelfth point: building institutions. According to Orbán, institutions and institutes are needed for successful politics. As he said, as long as "the institutions stay with us, while the politicians come and go". As he said: before the communists came from the east, "we never thought that the communists could come back from the west".

Preparation for 2024

According to Viktor Orbán, the same people are sitting in Washington and Brussels: those who "want to wipe out the Western way of life".

"We have to take up the fight and we can only be successful together and organized"

- he emphasized, referring to the fact that in 2024 - which, as he said, will be a decisive year - there will be elections in the United States, and European Parliament elections in Europe. "It's just a chore and it has to be done," underlined the prime minister.

"Thanks, and good luck!"

Viktor Orbán concluded his speech.
