Recently, more and more articles have been published with the intention of clarifying whether there is a "gender change" (transition) in childhood. How real is this question or problem? Since the topic is extremely politicized and even divides the professional environment, the authors of psichoertek.hu considered it important to try to answer some basic questions factually, based on specialized literary sources.  

Thinking about gender identity and sexual education has undergone a radical change in the last decade, approximately in the last 5 years. This process was followed by the modification of the treatment options and protocol for gender role dysphoria in clinical practice. We perceive little of all this in Hungary for now, but this does not mean that it is not important to consciously deal with these changes. In addition to opposing arguments, research, and theories, political forces also use the issue of gender identity (and orientation) as a tool and communication weapon. In this tense space, all professionals and parents dealing with children must take a stand on the issue, which is by no means an easy task.
