For us, the question is not whether we pay a little more for gas or oil, but whether it comes or not. The question is whether the economy will stop or not. If we were to fulfill the request of the Ukrainians, it would mean that Hungarian factories would have to be closed and unemployment would increase, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in Kossuth Rádió's Sunday Newspaper program.

NATO has adopted the Hungarian position that it does not send soldiers to Ukraine at the organizational level, but it does not forbid it individually for its members, said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Kossuth Radio. The Prime Minister added that they had reached an agreement that the countries can do what they see fit individually. The prime minister said about the airlock

that's a nice term, but it actually means an air war, so anyone who wants an airlock is really saying let's engage in an air war.

Speaking about the EU summit, the prime minister recalled that the union adopted sanctions lists, but these can only be accepted if all member states accept them. If a member country also objects to the proposal, it is rejected. Such a proposal was the termination of gas transport from Russia. Germany also agrees with this. The prime minister reminded: 65 percent of Hungarian oil deliveries and 85 percent of gas deliveries come from Russia.

So for us, the question is not whether we will pay a little more for gas or oil, but whether it will come or not. The question is whether the economy will stop or not. If we were to fulfill the request of the Ukrainians, it would mean that Hungarian factories would have to be closed and unemployment would increase

said Viktor Orbán.

We will do everything we can for Ukraine, since we will take in 500,000 refugees, for example, but they cannot ask us to help them by destroying ourselves in the process, he added.

Viktor Orbán: We pursue a pro-Hungarian policy

Ukrainian President Zelensky's message to Hungary at the EU summit was discussed. The prime minister believes that he understands the tone of the Ukrainian head of state, since nuanced wording cannot be expected in a war situation.

In this case, it is the task of Hungary and the other countries to make the Ukrainians understand that we will help in whatever way we can, but primarily each country must keep its own interests in mind

Viktor Orbán emphasized.

If the question is whose side we are on, then the answer is clear, we are on the side of the Hungarians. We have to make it clear that we are Hungarians and that we pursue a pro-Hungarian policy.

Although the left tries to smear this, it constantly attacks our national politics. But we know that the main thing is calmness, since emotional blackmail is also taking place at the moment, which is what the Ukrainian president is also doing. We live in a dangerous age, so it's really important to be calm and make informed decisions in all matters

he highlighted.

According to the prime minister, he has a specific and powerful voice in the European space, and he also pedals the gender issue. An important question for the election is whether this powerful voice will remain, or whether we will give in to the pressure of the West. Regarding the upcoming election, he said that the stake is whether we will go back to the Gyurcsány era or go forward. Our message is clear, only we can ensure peace and tranquility in this war situation - he emphasized.

We have to be smart

Viktor Orbán also spoke about the fact that they really sounded the alarm about food shortages, and even in Europe they fear this.

Ukraine and Russia account for a significant part of the world's grain trade. The Arab Spring also began as a hunger revolt

he added. The lack of grain can destabilize entire large regions and continents, said the Prime Minister. The possible food shortage is directly related to the food shortage, he added. We also have to be sane, because high prices can suck out domestic food products, which is why we had to order an export ban, said the Prime Minister. The Hungarian provision does not take it from someone, but pays it if necessary, otherwise this is contrary to the EU regulations.

Regarding energy prices, he said that they had already increased before the war, but a significant part of them came from the EU price increase. According to Viktor Orbán, the policy of artificial price increases in Brussels should be suspended. This makes them vomit bile in Brussels, but it will take a month or two for them to see the failure of the policy of artificial price increases.

50 percent of the causes of European inflation are energy price increases.
