Hungarian Poetry Day is every year on April 11, the birthday of Attila József. On this occasion, every year they pay tribute to Hungarian poetry with evenings of literary performances, book presentations, poetry meetings and competitions. It is true that the holiday falls on tomorrow, but programs are already being held today, among others in the Fiumei út cemetery organized by the National Heritage Institute.

As can be read on NÖRI's website:

The National Heritage Institute traditionally welcomes visitors with themed walks and a free open-air concert on the occasion of Poetry Day.
On Sunday, April 10, from 5:30 p.m., the Makám Együttes' Ady's evening entitled "Budapest is Night" will be shown at Endre Ady's grave. In addition to the concert, those interested can also take part in literary-themed walks starting at 12:00 and 14:00. On the Ami bennem lülk... and A Nyugat walks, the NÖRI walk guides recall the greats of Hungarian literature by walking the paths lined with budding trees, while they can learn about adventurous destinies, complicated loves, stories told over a glass of wine, as well as the lives and work of those writers and poets. the participants, to whom we owe the renewal of Hungarian literature. It turns out who was our first splashy poet, as well as who conquered the most women's hearts with his poems.

Participation in the concert and walks is free, but registration is required.

"Poetry Day has been one of NÖRI's most important cultural events for many years, as we can remember the poetic giants who are resting here with concerts with a special atmosphere in the Fiumei út cemetery. I consider it important that, in addition to our cultural events that are available throughout the year, we offer programs on these days that can appeal even to the younger audience, since the future of our culture lies in how authentically we can pass it on to the future generation." - emphasized Gábor Móczár, director general of NÖRI, in connection with the event.
