In the past week, there were several bomb alarms in various parts of the country. The Magyar Nemzet contacted József Horváth, security policy advisor of the Fundamental Rights Center, about these threats.

The purpose of the bomb alarms is to cause confusion or to shake faith in public safety, József Horváth told Magyar Nemzet. The security policy advisor of the Center for Fundamental Rights makes it likely that this is a foreign-led, coordinated action, since similar incidents have also occurred in Serbia in recent days. But this is not the only possible option.

The coordination is clear, and the fact that bomb alarms are announced anonymously for highly visited objects makes it clear that the goal is to create confusion or to shake faith in public safety

- said the expert. The security policy advisor of the Center for Fundamental Rights said that two possible options were outlined during the identification of the perpetrators: there may be, for example, those who would like to avenge another two-thirds victory of Fidesz-KDNP in this way.

I would not analyze the state of mind of these people right now, let's just say that they are confused. They do not assess the consequences of reporting a bomb alarm. The criminal code severely punishes the threat of public danger. If those threatening make a demand, it is already a terrorist act, which entails significantly heavier penalties.

- he detailed. Based on the expert's description, the perpetrators have not yet made any demands for the bomb threats, and the firefighters have not found any explosive devices.

The other option - since there is a war in our immediate environment - is to use hybrid war methods, such as the announcement of serial bomb alarms, to punish those states that are not willing to actively participate in this war. Let's not forget that there were also bomb alarms in Serbia recently

he explained. According to József Horváth, we cannot ignore "just before the elections, with what level of vehemence the Ukrainians demanded that we deliver weapons and ammunition and that we take part in the war.

In Hungary too, supporters of this demand can be found in good numbers on the left

he added. The security policy advisor stated: the series of hybrid war attacks is clearly aimed at causing confusion, not a student act committed by kids so that you don't have to write a thesis. As he detailed, the authorities take it seriously for this reason. According to Horváth, it is only a matter of time before the perpetrators are identified.

The Hungarian nation reminded that on Friday, a total of four high-traffic places were closed due to bomb alarms, because in the morning there were bomb threats in Szeged Plaza, Győr Plaza, Corvin Plaza in Budapest and Népliget bus station. The police were alerted to bomb threats several times this week: on Thursday there was a bomb alarm in the Museum of Fine Arts, and on Monday and Tuesday in several malls in the capital and in the countryside, as well as at the MÁV directorate in Debrecen. Previously, there were similar bomb alarms in shopping centers at the end of March, and the police received several reports of threats to the public at that time.
