After a two-year hiatus, the downtown of Budapest will once again be resounding with reformed songs. The XVII. The Reformed Music Festival (RZF) will be held in the capital between May 27 and 29. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the meeting was suspended for two years, and now it will be revived in May at old and new locations.

Kálvin tér, Ráday utca and Bakáts tér are the usual locations for the Reformed Music Festival, but this year the reformed church in Nagyvárad tér and its surroundings will also serve as the venue for the three-day event. Gergely Böszörményi, the originator of the event, previously summarized the essence of the festival: "The Reformed Church has such a huge culture and important social role that it is worth showing." This year, the organization of the event, which was created to present and celebrate the Reformed culture, was undertaken by the Reformed Public and Cultural Foundation.

Although churches also host the RZF, the purpose of the event is to present Reformed culture and values outside the church walls. After the Reformed teacher-student parade on Friday afternoon, which kicked off the three-day whirlwind, the opening prayer will be given by Transdanubian Bishop József Steinbach.

Field music, folk music, early music and jazz concerts, a choir meeting, a round-up and an audience meeting for the Hungarian Heritage Prize winners are also included in this year's program. The usual torchlight parade cannot be missed this year either.

On the evening of the 27th, the Reformed march on Ráday Street and Kálvin Square, singing psalms. Róbert Géresi, the bishop of the Slovak Reformed Christian Church, will lead the late evening service.

This year, not only the Reformed Music Festival, but also the Reformed Songs concert series will continue. The concert, which was also paused for two years, drawing from the Reformed hymnbook, will be held on June 25 at the MÜPA.
