"The governing parties proposed parliamentary proportions of two-thirds to one-third to the opposition during the preparatory negotiations for the establishment of the parliament," Fidesz faction leader Máté Kocsis told journalists on Monday, after the first consultation.

Máté Kocsis also reported that there will continue to be six vice-presidents of the Parliament, one of whom is responsible for legislation. Two of the vice-presidential posts could be filled by a member of the two opposition lists, and as in the previous cycle, fifteen committees would be formed.

He said that the names of the committees will not change, and ten will be chaired by the president of the ruling party, as well as the proportion of vice-chairmen of the committees will remain unchanged, 20 may be filled by opposition politicians, while 40 may be held by politicians from the ruling party. He listed the national security, sustainable development, budget, public welfare and enterprise development committees among the five opposition-led committees. He added that the opposition will also get seven parliamentary clerkships.

Máté Kocsis emphasized that the date of the parliamentary oath-taking is fixed, and those who do not take part in it can take their oath at a new date determined by the president and the house committee, that is, the relevant representative cannot decide on its date.

He drew attention to the fact that the establishment of the main people's representative body is a dignified and solemn moment. Anyone who does not participate in it will not only not be a representative, but also cannot be elected to an office.

He also reported that this time the governing parties will apply the principle of reciprocity, so that if a faction does not vote for the officials of the governing party, the governing parties will not vote for the officials of the relevant faction either.

Evaluating the consultation, Máté Kocsis noted that the DK representatives indicated several times that they still need to discuss what was said.

He also objected to the fact that the party that had publicly announced that it would not participate in the inaugural meeting had come to distribute committee seats. The leader of the Fidesz faction assessed that the politician of the moment has "entangled himself in his own feet, tricked himself, he can't get out of it", as he wants to retaliate against the fact that his party does not participate in the inaugural session of the parliament, which his own people do not allow. According to him, the politician of the moment is trying to figure out how to get the commission positions, which is why he wrote a letter in which he set conditions.

"It is expected that there will be seven opposition factions and two government factions in the National Assembly, and this will give the opposition a lot of advantages," he said in response to a question. As an example, he mentioned that there will be seven opposition speeches before the agenda, while only two pro-government speeches, but this will be the ratio for interpellations, immediate questions and questions. He noted that it is necessary to prepare for the fact that the duration of parliamentary sessions will be longer than usual.

Máté Kocsis also spoke about the fact that the opposition parties must agree among themselves on the vice president, committee chair and committee seats, taking into account the list result.
