"Let's express our solidarity with Russia!"
An open letter to the organizers of the April 3 event
Cui prodest? Who cares?
My well-intentioned, nationally-minded friends also enthusiastically invited me. Then, we'll see you there, at the rally next to the Russians, right?
I do not think so. I don't want to see the following headline on the front page of the New York Times the next day:
The newly re-elected, increasingly fascistic Orbán regime did not even wait for the formation of the new government and already organized a demonstration in the heart of Budapest alongside the dictator, Orbán's bosom friend, the aggressor Putin. Hundreds of thousands marched, supporting Russia's aggression against the innocent and defenseless little Ukraine.
If we even imagine a peaceful march photo under the article, the picture is complete.
A thinking person is more or less in possession of the truth, but it very rarely helps to voice it.
History - especially the part of it that is close to us - could have taught us that truth is not a good currency these days, especially if we want to redeem it west of us.
There is an American saying:
"Do You wanna be right or do You wanna be smart."
In free translation, the meaning is something like "Do you want to be right or to achieve your goal?" Of course, for this we need to know our goal.
I wonder about the goal of the protesters. The question for me is whether we Hungarians will survive this war with the least moral, economic or even blood loss, or whether we will tell the truth to the world, whatever will happen, but we were right.
"An ancient rat spreads disease among us,
the unthought thought,
swallows what we have cooked up,
and runs from person to person."
(Attila József)
Let's try to understand the poet!
It is feared that the Ukrainians are simultaneously inciting the demonstration and protesting against it. They press the brake and gas at the same time. Only the engine can burn in this.
The point is that the smoke can be seen far and wide.
If there are demonstrations in Germany in support of the Russians, then the news reports on the extremist demonstrators. If there are demonstrations in Hungary, then the news about Hungary, what's more, will be about a phenomenon called the "Orbán regime", which has now completely crossed the Rubicon. It must be stopped with more and more sanctions, political attacks, isolation, etc.
But at least we said it right...right!?
He who wins time wins life.
Every minute of survival is worth its weight in gold. To whom and what do the protesters want to prove?
Do we want to shout in the West's face that we know who started the war, regardless of who pulled the trigger first?
Everyone in the West knows this, just as they know that men cannot give birth. Yet they passed a law confirming this. So I ask again: to whom and what do the protesters want to prove?
Let's be glad that the West has not yet imposed categorical pretense on us, although it is working on it.
The motto of the Kádár system is that whoever is not against us is with us. The liberal world is already there
whoever is not with us is against us.
Silence is violence. Anyone who just stays silent and doesn't cheer spectacularly while living the stupidity imposed on them is an enemy. Let's be glad that this unstable silence is still ours, and that the West has not yet noticed this, where every other person posts a Facebook picture of themselves with a blue-yellow flag and everyone supports America's "peacemaker" voice and does EVERYTHING for the victory of the Ukrainians. Let that be enough. In this roar, the sound of the Budapest street is worth as much as whispering at a Pa-dö-dö concert. We can be sure, however, that in the Puskás stadium, in addition to the few reluctant fans organized on the occasion of the European Championship, the "reporters" who happened to be there will also write this whisper on the sky.
My suggestion is that everyone beat their breasts in their own homes.
Scream your truth into the large mirror in the living room and pull yourself out proudly if you really want to speak the truth.
We beat the laundry.
Let's not defeat ourselves immediately afterwards! They will be at the demonstration. They will be. But at least we don't add our face, or even our shadow!
We must stay out of this war!
Let the admonition ring in the ears of everyone who is about to pull shoes to "support" the Russians in the given location and trap us for another four hard-fought years by referring to freedom of speech and democracy.
I have good news.
Thinking is ALSO free in a democracy. Let's live with this end of the opportunity given by democracy!!
