On Friday, President János Áder invited Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister candidate of the Fidesz-KDNP party alliance that won the parliamentary election, to form the new government, and he accepted the invitation.
In his press statement after the meeting held in the Sándor Palace - made in the company of János Áder - Viktor Orbán emphasized: a decade of dangers is ahead of us, there is a war, as a result prices are rising all over Europe, there are signs of a serious energy crisis and because of this "they are facing agony" economies, and we have not yet recovered from the era of epidemics.
He added: He made a promise to President János Áder to form a government that, as a whole and in its members individually, is capable of protecting Hungary even in the dangerous decade ahead.
János Áder stated : the constitutional rules entitle the president of the republic to propose the person of the prime minister to the Parliament, and he invited Viktor Orbán to form the new government, who accepted it. At the inaugural session on Monday, he also recommends that the new Parliament elect Viktor Orbán as prime minister.
