Sweden has not been able to integrate the immigrants it received in the last two decades, which has led to the development of parallel societies and gang violence, Magdalena Andersson stated. The Swedish Prime Minister therefore wants to implement a series of measures that would enable the government to act more effectively against organized crime.

Andersson gave an unusually honest criticism of the situation in Swedish politics, saying that extreme Islamism and the extreme right have gained too much space in Sweden.

The process of segregation was unleashed in Sweden, thus parallel societies were built. We live in the same country, but in a completely different reality - stated the Swedish Prime Minister.

In the Scandinavian state, the number of people born outside of Sweden has doubled in the last two decades, and the number of migrants has reached 2 million, i.e. a fifth of the population has an immigrant background. The Swedish government now wants to increase cooperation between the social sector and the police in order to reduce youth crime. The society is not strong enough, the resources of the police and the social sphere are insufficient, the politician added.

Sweden , where parliamentary elections will be held later this year, has tightened its immigration policy after receiving more immigrants in proportion to its population than any other EU country during the 2015 migration crisis. Now, compared to other Western European EU member states, the Swedes have a stricter immigration policy.

The latter is also proven by the fact that Amnesty International has repeatedly criticized the restrictions imposed by the country's leadership. According to the NGO, the new migration policy further inhibits integration and negatively affects the human rights of migrants.
