Today is the liturgical memorial day of St. Joseph the Worker in the Catholic Church. József Jesus' foster father was a simple handyman, a carpenter. According to the writings, József lived his daily life in silence and did his work. He was a master of a part of architecture, and as evidenced by the great buildings built centuries earlier, we can still admire the great works of masons and carpenters who knew their trade even today.

Not much can be said about today's descendants - with respect to the exceptions. Everyone knows about an incredible – even a horror story – case. Of course, one should not generalize, not least because the stories circulating in the public's mouth mainly took place in Budapest and the agglomeration, although there were also entrepreneurs who came from 200 kilometers away to try their luck.

My friend told me that he wanted to replace the roof structure of an old house. Two out of three "experts" found the job a difficult task. The third carpenter walked around the house with his hands in his pockets, then after some humming he announced that the labor fee was HUF 10 million, plus the material. They showed him where the exit was.

The amount is not a mistake, let's not even get involved in how long it takes to earn that much money. The question is, of course, that the bidder wanted to achieve his annual income with two or three weeks of work, that much work almost every year is enough for him, and he thought that sooner or later he would find a partner who would provide him with "social" support in return for the work.

Another case was when they wanted to have a staircase made from the outside of a one-story family house so that the children living on the upper floor would have a separate entrance. The professional explained how and when he could do it, then added that he was asking HUF 3 million in advance for the material.

When the customer said to go together and buy the material, and he would pay for it there. The answer was very simple: go alone, then the Saki turned around and left - the rest is just a matter of fantasy.

One could list countless more beautiful cases when the contractor walked away with the money, or near the end of the work, the specialist asked to be paid, he would come the next day to do the final touches, but he never showed up again, he didn't answer his phone. Of course, they say that there is a shortage of workers in the construction industry, there are not enough professionals, but I think that the facts do not exempt me from the fact that the empire of links is still growing.

Although Marx is not considered to be quoted these days, his sentence must be acknowledged: Being determines consciousness. In other words, the cart is running well now, you can cheekily ask for a lot, but suddenly the seven tight years come and then these unscrupulous entrepreneurs scream and wail that there is no work, that it is impossible to make a living, that we emigrate, that the state should give support, etc.

You can brag now, but a smart person also thinks about the future.
