The police officers on duty arrested a total of 426 border violators and prevented 159 people from illegally entering the territory of our country between 0 a.m. and 12 a.m. on May 9, 2022.

In Bács-Kiskun county, the police arrested a total of 163 border violators in 23 cases, and in Csongrád-Csanád county, the patrols arrested a total of 236 border violators in 30 cases, while in Fejér county, 4 border violators were arrested at the M8 Pentele bridge, 15 in 2 cases in Győr-Moson-Sopron county, 3 in Pest county, and 5 border violators were arrested on the outskirts of Kőszeg in Vas county.

During the inspection, the detained illegal migrants claimed to be citizens of Turkey, Syria, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Somalia, Libya and Morocco, but they could not credibly prove their identity or the legality of their stay in Hungary. The police escorted them back to the temporary border security checkpoint in accordance with the current Hungarian legislation.

In the last 24 hours, in 4 cases in Bács-Kiskun and 9 in Csongrád-Csanád county, the police prevented a total of 159 people from illegally entering the territory of our country.

As you can read, on the basis of a signal issued by the Székesfehérvár Division of the International Crimes Department of the Emergency Police National Investigation Bureau, the Fejér County police officers checked a vehicle on the Pentele bridge at kilometer section 82+600 of the M8 highway on May 9, 2022 around midnight. In the passenger compartment of the vehicle were four people claiming to be Turkish citizens, who could not credibly prove their identity or the legality of their stay in Hungary, so they were brought to the police together with the driver.

At the Fejér County Police Headquarters, proceedings were initiated against the German driver on suspicion of committing the crime of human smuggling.
