"It's a risk" - already on CNN they are talking about the fact that Biden should not run again.

According to a former adviser to Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton, it is possible that Donald Trump and Joe Biden will fight for the White House again in 2024. The current president will be over 80 by then. "We don't know where things can go if you put someone with those vulnerabilities in that office and give him four years," said CNN's senior analyst.

American President Joe Biden should not run for president again due to his age, David Gergen, a former presidential adviser, said on CNN on Wednesday.

“There will be an election in 2024, when it is very possible that Donald Trump and Joe Biden will face each other. If one of them wins the presidency, he will rule the country at the age of 80" -

said Gergen, one of CNN's leading political analysts.

"We've never seen anything like this before. Frankly, I think it's a real risk."

- added the expert, who was also a White House adviser during the time of American presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.

The analyst - who just turned 80 years old - explained that at this age "people's judgment is not as clear as it used to be (.) and we don't know where things can go if someone with such vulnerabilities is put in that office , and they give him four years.”

Biden is currently 79 and Trump is 75.

A few days ago, the former political consultant said in a statement to CBS News about Biden's possible run in 2024: "In my opinion, President Biden's time as an active leader ends with this term and should end."

Everyone knows, but no one is willing to say it

Last month, two unnamed sources told the American internet portal The Hill: Biden told former President Barack Obama in a face-to-face meeting that he wanted to run again in the next presidential election cycle.

Biden's mental and physical fitness has been repeatedly questioned by his political opponents in the recent period. Most recently, Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott called him "mentally unfit." Scott said the president should step down.

"Everyone knows, but no one is willing to say it. We, on the other hand, have to say for the sake of our country that Joe Biden is not able to fulfill his task. Incomprehensible, incompetent and confused”

he said. Texas Republican congressman Ronny Jackson, who served as White House physician during both the Obama and Trump administrations, tweeted on Monday: “Something has been wrong with Biden for a long time. If he does not submit to the cognitive test, he must resign.” Jackson has previously indicated several times that he thinks Biden is mentally unfit for the presidency.

In mid-April, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia called it "confounding" that Joe Biden is leading the United States. After the American president finished his speech at one of the universities in North Carolina, he turned aside from the pulpit and extended his hand to someone, but no one was standing on the podium besides him. Biden stood still for a few seconds before walking off the stage.

“Our president turned around and tried to shake someone's hand when no one was standing there. This is incredibly confusing and he is running our country!”

Greene said at the time.
