Szerencsejáték Zrt. has introduced new, environmentally friendly lottery tickets made from 100 percent recycled paper material, which is unprecedented in Hungary, the company told MTI on Friday.

According to the information, the main prize of the pair of Ökokaland lottery tickets is HUF 50 million and HUF 75 million, respectively.

They emphasized that Szerencsejáték Zrt. is reducing its ecological footprint every year in accordance with its strategic goals, and as part of this, the national lottery company produced 20 percent less paper waste in 2021 compared to the previous year. In order to increase environmental awareness, further steps will be taken from 2022, as a result of which the HUF 1,000 Ökokaland and the HUF 2,000 Ökokaland Extra lottery tickets will be introduced, which are already made of 100 percent recycled paper.

It was highlighted that Ökokaland and the premium category Ökokaland Extra promote the importance of a sustainable future not only in their theme, but also in their appearance.

According to the announcement, the players specifically expected the lottery ticket family to be expanded with "green" scratchers, which was also confirmed by the market research prepared by the company. 90 percent of those surveyed said that they would like to buy from an environmentally friendly scratcher, says Szerencsejáték Zrt.
