This year's winning applications of the National Talent Program have been announced, more than 1,200 applications have received a total of HUF 2.2 billion in support, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for families announced in a statement published on kormany.hu, shared on his Facebook page, on Friday. Róbert Zsigó emphasized: this year, 607 young people earned the Nation's Young Talents Scholarship, which is popular among applicants and enables individual support.

As can be read in the announcement: talented young Hungarians are one of the nation's most important resources, so it is in the interest of all of us to seek them out, embrace them and support them.

In the open tenders of the National Talent Program (NTP) published in February 2022, there were a total of 1,258 winning tenders in 11 categories; the total amount of support is more than HUF 2.2 billion. 63 percent of all submitted applications were evaluated positively, that is, almost two-thirds of those who applied for the calls of the National Talent Program received support. This year, 607 young people won the Nation's Young Talents Scholarship, which is extremely popular among applicants and provides direct support to talented young people, worth a total of almost 380 million.

The state secretary responsible for families reminded: the goal of the National Talent Program is to find young people capable of outstanding performance and to provide them with targeted assistance in order to develop their talent and make the best possible use of it. This year too, applications could be submitted in several categories. Talent management organizations, institutions, associations, foundations, among others, could apply to support domestic programs aimed at improving the conditions and tools of talent support, to create publications, to support the organization of academic and art competitions, and to participate in world competitions. It was also possible to apply for the holding of scientific student conferences and scientific workshops, and support for the talent development programs of talent support organizations and professional colleges.

Since the start of the program, decisions have been made to support 19,000 projects in the amount of about HUF 33 billion. The basis of the funds available in the domestic budget are the 1% tax offers, which the government has supplemented every year since 2015. During the tax declaration, anyone can declare that they donate 1% of their tax to the National Talent Program, thereby embracing and supporting talented young Hungarians.
