Gergely Gulyás, the minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office, said that the cabinet had held two meetings since its establishment. For the first time, they decided to declare a state of emergency, as we are exposed to indirect danger and the possibility of a humanitarian disaster exists, and the economic consequences are also serious, the minister emphasized.

The minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office explained that the war is taking place between Ukraine and Russia, this does not mean an armed threat to Hungary, but a humanitarian one, many refugees are coming to our country. The events also increased problems related to the economy. Even during the war, the Hungarian economy must be made crisis-proof. The minister explained that the voters had given us the authority to stay out of the war, and that the government should find a sure foothold to protect the previous results.

Gergely Gulyás said that the government decided

from Friday, only cars with Hungarian license plates will be allowed to refuel at a discount at gas stations.

Therefore, only cars with a Hungarian license will be able to refuel at a discount in Hungary, because according to the minister, gasoline tourism threatens the security of supply, and this is an abuse of the frozen gasoline price.

Elsewhere, utilities have multiplied

Gergely Gulyás pointed out that utility prices have increased several times in many countries, and Hungary was able to maintain the utility reduction. Using its extraordinary authority, the government established a utility and national defense fund. According to Gulyás, the Brussels sanctions policy is also responsible for the rise in prices. In the protracted war situation, the country's economy must also be protected, everything must be done to reduce utilities, support families, and preserve the value of pensions, the minister said.

Extra-profit taxes

Economic Development Minister Márton Nagy said that extra-profit special taxes are coming. The extra-profit taxes will be levied on top of the current sectoral special taxes, the minister said.

The first such sector is the banking sector, where the extra profit is withdrawn and the transaction tax is expanded. The amount of this in the banking sector is HUF 250+50 billion (extra profit+bank tax). This is the annual amount of HUF to be withdrawn. According to the minister, the goal is to collect this entire amount this year and next year as well.

  • HUF 50 billion will be deducted from the insurance sector.
  • 300 billion will be withdrawn in the energy sector - this mainly affects Mol.
  • The retail sector is HUF 60 billion,
  • The new burdens of the telecommunications sector amount to HUF 40 billion,
  • HUF 20 billion will be deducted from pharmaceutical distributors (this does not affect small pharmaceutical distributors),
  • 30 billion will be taken from the airlines,
  • In addition, the government imposes the advertising tax, which is expected to generate HUF 15 billion in revenue.

The government hopes that this will generate a total of HUF 800 billion in revenue.

Minister Márton Nagy explained that they are not losing profit, but extra profit.

In response to a journalist's question, Gergely Gulyás said that the government had already ordered increased protection before the war, "we will maintain this". The minister stated

if the situation requires it, the Hungarian army and police are capable of protecting our country's border.

In response to the question regarding the negotiations regarding extrapofit taxes, Márton Nagy told the Magyar Nemzet: yesterday he visited the Banking Association, this morning he met with representatives of the energy sector. He reported on the government's decisions and their reasons.

There is as much money available for family support in next year's budget as this year's, Gergely Gulyás assured, adding that based on the international forecasts available today, these measures and the balance of the budget can be maintained.

The external borders of the EU must be protected as strongly as possible, stated Gergely Gulyás, who believes that it is now worthwhile to strike at all excesses on the grain market. He agreed that the delivery of grain shipments to the crisis zones is of prime importance, as long as we have already met our own needs.

The special tax will not be higher for companies with the lowest income

The extra profit will be collected in the form of a decree so that they can move as quickly as possible, the minister said, adding that annual amounts will be collected.

Márton Nagy said that the 2.7 percent tax rate for companies with HUF 100 billion revenue will be changed to 4.1 percent, that of companies with HUF 30-100 billion revenue from 0.4 to 1 percent, and the tax rate between HUF 500 million and HUF 30 million will remain unchanged. stay.

700 billion will be spent on utility reduction and HUF 200 billion will be allocated to the snow protection fund

Márton Nagy also explained that they hope to generate HUF 900 billion from the extra-profit special tax this year, of which HUF 700 billion will go to the utility reduction fund and HUF 200 billion to the snow protection fund. They also count on other tax revenues. He said: As minister, János Csák may regulate this issue in a different way, but the government's position is that in the 21st century, a secondary language exam is essential for a diploma.

The national defense must be strengthened

The amount received in the fund would be spent on the development of the armed forces, not on the maintenance of national defense and the ministry.
