There is a high chance of another armed conflict between Kosovo and Serbia, Prime Minister of Pristina Albin Kurti (pictured) told the press. The Serbs, but also the Kosovo Albanian opposition, criticized the Prime Minister for his statements about the war.
The leader stated that before the invasion of Ukraine, there was little chance of a renewal of fighting, but now the situation has changed.
Another conflict between the Serbs and the Kosovo Albanians flared up at the beginning of the month, when the government in Pristina decided to ignore the documents issued by Belgrade and instead issue its own papers. The Serbs could have used these to enter the territory of the country they did not recognize. After that, the protesting Serbs raised roadblocks to get the Kosovo cabinet to cancel its decision. gave in to American pressure and postponed the implementation of the measure by one month. Order has since been restored, but according to analysts, this is only a short-term situation, as the previous decision will be in effect again from the first of September. The prime minister of Kosovo warned that Serbia has a significant military presence along the country's border.
Petar Petkovic, the head of the Kosovo affairs office of the Serbian government, reacted to the statements of the Prime Minister of Pristina. He underlined: the Albanian politician invented the Russian influence because he not only wanted to attack Serbia, but also justified the unilateral actions directed against the Serbian people in Kosovo.
