According to the Italian Prime Minister, almost all EU member states oppose Ukraine's candidate status

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi stated during a press conference that almost all EU member states are against Ukraine receiving candidate status, Kárpáthír reports.

The Italian Prime Minister emphasized that only Italy supports Kyiv's candidacy for EU membership. He added: none of the larger member states agree with this. He also emphasized that this status would not mean any guarantee for Ukraine anyway. However, he did not rule out that the accelerated procedure would work, but he stated that

for now, Ukraine's membership in the EU is not on the agenda.
