It is not surprising that the Russian Foreign Minister's visit to Belgrade failed, stated President Aleksandar Vučić, noting that he had indicated days ago that the situation was complicated.
He added that he had not experienced such hysteria and organized attacks against Serbia for a long time , as Sergey Lavrov's visit.
"We have to protect our country. In the last 24 hours, more representatives of Western media have come than ever, waiting to take a picture of Vučić and Lavrov, not because of Russia, but to blacken and attack Serbia," Vučić stated in an interview with RTS .
The head of state repeated that Serbia condemned the attack on Ukraine, but traditionally maintains friendly relations with Russia.
Vučić also spoke about the fact that due to the sanctions imposed on Russian crude oil, Serbia could record a loss of 600 million dollars, and that additional funds must be spent on gas procurement. He noted that Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó is coming to Belgrade on Friday to sign the gas agreement.
