We consider the idea in Brussels to tax people driving conventionally powered, diesel or gasoline cars to be a crazy idea and absolutely to be prevented, said Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó in Paris on Thursday.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, after the meeting of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the head of the ministry said: "it seems very clear from the developments of the past period that the world is sitting on an uncontrollable roller coaster in terms of economic prospects".

As he said, the management of global challenges promises to be a big deal, but we must be sure of two things, on the one hand, we must not increase people's tax burdens, and on the other hand, we must avoid countries that are not responsible for paying the price of the war in Ukraine.

"We reject any tax changes that would increase the burden on people," he stated.
