The leadership of our capital seems to be joining the Cities Energy Saving Sprint, a Brussels initiative launched by the European Commission, the Association of Mayors - Europe and the European Committee of the Regions.

The program documentation lists the following points as desirable measures:

  • Savings on the heating and cooling of public buildings: in winter, buildings can only be heated to 18 degrees Celsius, while in summer, buildings can be cooled to 25 degrees;
  • They limit the lighting of shops and the time of public lighting;
  • Car-free days are held regularly;
  • More car-free zones will be created;
  • Speed limits would be reduced;
  • It is recommended to stop or limit public services - such as swimming pools, sports centers, museums - due to high energy prices.

This is not the first time that the city administration, suffering from a lack of ideas and ideas, i.e. intellectual laziness, adapts Western ideas untouched, which are not particularly attractive when personalized, but completely incomprehensible without them. This was, for example, the setting up of the BLM statue in Ferencváros, but this is also the idea of the Mandela memorial park, as a curiosity on Gellért Hill.

Hungarian left-liberal politics is no longer inspired by political theory, but by Western models, looking for some kind of non-existent local offshoot of the global class struggle, while for the right, local political action that can be given to eternal questions inspired by philosophy counts. In short, while the left seeks universal answers to local questions, the right seeks local answers to universal questions. Of course, this finding does not refer to symmetry, but is proof of the primacy of right-wing political thinking, which also gives it its success.

With the above initiative, the left-liberal side is only putting another straitjacket on reality, which is why it is difficult to decide whether the hypocrisy of the original idea is more irritating or the "how not to work?" Budapest presentation of the play.

The program points are particularly attractive, the "don't skimp!" domesticated versions, I can already imagine Ms. Tüttő spending eight hours a day in front of her office computer, at 18 degrees, together with all the capital potentates. Oh no.

The idea of a car-free day is also excellent, the many bored, useless families can finally start to organize how they can spice up their hard-to-coordinate weekly itinerary a little bit more in the framework of the green day. Of course, if the swimming pools are closed, you don't have to take Pistiké to training either, this way we can kill two birds with one stone. Why doesn't the child learn to swim? Well no. But who cares, the school's rainbow Squirrel Örse will make up for it with something.

For example, I don't know how much the limited opening hours can reduce energy consumption, cooling down a swimming pool and then heating it up again might not be more economical than keeping the temperature at the same level, but I'm just a humanities major, so...

So, seriously, although this city administration promised a solution, it quickly became part of the problem, and has been persistently so ever since. A big problem. Due to their way of thinking, they list the worst possible answers, just like their comrades in Brussels. Stupidity really has no limits.
